With a mix of soulful, funky covers and originals, The Vertical Birds have started to turn heads in the Knoxville, TN area. In addition to getting toes tapping during their own shows, as part of a growing blues, funk, and soul music scene, the band has already made a name for itself as the go-to band for backing several of the area’s finest blues, soul, and RnB singers. In fact, they’ve become the main supporting band for local soul singer, Victoria Flowers, and members of the band are in high demand when it comes to moonlighting for many of the area’s greatest talented acts, such as The Jaystorm Project, Kirk Fleta, Kapitan Islander Band, and more. And, the guys can often be found jamming as part of the house band for several blues and funk jams in town.
